Job description

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant opportunity in Buffalo, NY (Night shift)

Wonderful opportunity to join a close-knit group of 12 physicians and 8 advanced practice providers in our Buffalo, NY location. Our team comprises clinicians from diverse geographical, educational, and training backgrounds who are supportive and collaborative with other staff and departments. We have a great relationship with our medical staff office; they are very efficient and helpful during the privileging process. We have multiple committees that our providers can lead or join.

Position Highlights:

  • 349 bed community hospital
  • 12 physician team and 6 APP's
  • 4 physicians and 2 APPs on during the day; 1 swing shift physician; 1 Nocturnist and 1 APP on at night
  • Nights – 7pm to 7am
  • 7 on/7 off schedule
  • Census – Day Physicians – avg 16; APPs – avg 14
  • Night providers split admissions (APPS 4 – 6 and Physicians 6 – 8), cross coverage (census of 100) and Rapids (Physicians 2 – 3)
  • Closed ICU – Intensivist are in-house 24 hours/ 7 days a week
  • No procedures
  • No codes (there is a code blue team)
  • Hospitalists do all Rapid Responses (physicians only). Intensivists available for support as needed
  • Excellent subspecialty support represented at the hospital
  • EMR – EPIC
  • NP/PA with inpatient hospitalist experience
  • APP COMPENSATION: Night APP $170,000 + Productivity Incentive

Qualifications:

  • Board-certified or board-eligible Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • Hospitalist experience is preferred; hospitalist training is required.
