Job description

DBA who has specific knowledge in the Epic EMR/EHR space.  It would preferably be someone who has substantial familiarity with the Epic operational database environment and their proprietary non-relational database platform that’s the core of their operation.  Epic refers to that database as “Chronicles”, which is implemented in InterSystems Caché technology – a database technology that uses hierarchical (rather than relational) storage structures.

Specifically, we’d be looking to develop a statement of work for a candidate to supplement our current Epic DBAs (whom Epic refers to as “ODBAs”) to help us get through the start u of our Health Plan Epic Payor Platform environments, specifically:

  • day-to-day support of the multiple Epic environments
  • assisting with upgrades and patching the Epic database environments
  • helping to document and provide basic training to others on the DBA team to expand their knowledge of the Epic databases
  • assist the administrators of the other Epic products that use the Epic databases environments when needed

The perfect candidate would have completed the Epic ODBA certification process.
