Position Overview
Epic Pain Management is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to support our physician procedure teams and provide coverage across Epic clinic locations throughout the San Antonio area.
This role is responsible for administering and monitoring moderate (conscious) sedation, ensuring patient safety throughout procedures, and supporting physicians and clinical teams in a fast-paced procedural environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and monitor moderate sedation for interventional pain management procedures
- Perform IV insertion and manage IV therapies
- Conduct thorough pre-, intra-, and post-procedure patient assessments
- Monitor patient vital signs and recovery status, identifying and responding appropriately to changes in condition
- Collaborate closely with physicians, anesthesia providers, and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient safety and comfort
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation
Requirements:
Education
Required:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Preferred:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
ExperienceRequired:
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience in a procedural, critical care, or acute care setting
Preferred:
- Experience in peri-anesthesia, PACU, emergency department, ICU, interventional radiology, or GI laboratory settings
- Completion of a peri-anesthesia or critical care internship/training program
Licensure & CertificationsRequired:
- Current Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license
- BLS (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) at time of hire
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
Preferred Certifications:
- CNOR (Certified Perioperative Nurse)
- CPAN (Certified Post Anesthesia Nurse)
- SGNA certification or GI laboratory experience
Qualifications- Strong IV therapy and sedation-related clinical skills
- Excellent critical thinking, assessment, and patient monitoring abilities
- Clear, compassionate communication skills with patients and interdisciplinary care teams
- Ability to adapt to multiple clinic environments while maintaining consistent standards of care
- Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered care in a procedural setting
