Group Health Cooperative of South Central Wisconsin. BETTER TOGETHER
This position is hybrid with regular requirements to work onsite. Candidates must be willing to commute to Madison, WI as needed.
The IT Database Administrator -Senior role at Group Health Cooperative (GHC-SCW) is to design, install, monitor, maintain, and performance tune production databases while ensuring high levels of data availability. This individual is also responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing database policies and procedures to ensure the integrity and availability of databases and their accompanying software. The incumbent is expected to provide leadership and technical guidance to staff, monitor project status and results, and facilitate teamwork and accountability. Work is performed independently under the general direction, guidance, and supervision of the Technical Services Manager.
JOB SPECIFIC MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or four (4) to six (6) years equivalent relevant work experience.
  3. Administration certifications for Microsoft SQL, Iris and Business Objects Enterprise are preferred.
    As a condition of employment incumbent must obtain certificates needed to comply with Epic's good maintenance program within two (2) years. All required certifications must be current and maintained by incumbent.
  4. Strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  5. Experience with project management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
  6. Working technical experience with designing, building, installing, configuring and supporting database servers, including Microsoft SQL and Iris.
  7. Experience with Linux is preferred.
  8. Hands-on database tuning and troubleshooting experience.
  9. Experience supporting Epic Systems technologies such as Clarity, EPS and Data Courier is preferred.
  10. Experience with database platforms, including OLAP technology and Business Objects/SAP solutions.
  11. Good knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
  12. Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving abilities
  13. Excellent technical architecture and technical support documentation skills.
  14. Ability to stay current on, and adapt to, rapidly changing technology.
  15. Strong presentation, customer service and interpersonal skills. Ability to be culturally sensitive and work with diverse populations.
  16. Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver license with good driving record. Ability to provide own transportation to various work locations, as required.
  17. Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  18. On-call availability. Ability to work extra and/or flexible hours including occasional weekends required.
  19. Ability to sit for extended periods of time.
  20. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, and to handle other computer components.
  21. Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, devices, and peripherals.
