Your Role on the Team
Position Summary:
The incumbent is responsible for analyzing patient record content in order to accurately assign documentation deficiencies to the responsible physician; communicating/coordinating with medical and house staff regarding healthcare record deficiencies; and providing assistance to physicians in the completion of incomplete healthcare records and documents according to hospital by-laws, rules, regulations and JCAHO guidelines. Prepares and complies daily, weekly and monthly statistical reports, ensuring integrity of chart deficiency database and participates in departmental PI projects.
What It Takes to be Successful
Required Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with alpha/numeric filing systems
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the department and across the Health System
  • 3 years experience working with hospital medical records

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Working knowledge of EPIC registration system
  • Working knowledge of BISCOM
  • RHIA or RHIT credential
  • PC literacy
  • Knowledge of medical terminology
