Job description

Job Title: Maintenance/ HVAC Technician (EPA) Duration: 12 months Contract to Perm Shift: Monday–Friday, 2nd Shift Pay Rate: Candidates with 2–5 years of relevant HVAC experience: $21–$23/hr. Candidates with 5+ years of HVAC/Chiller experience and EPA Certification: $22–$30/hr. W-2 position. Note: Do you have certification in EPA 608 Universal? Must have hands-on experience do you have operating, troubleshooting, or maintaining commercial HVAC chillers, including water-cooled or air-cooled chillers? Are you comfortable working onsite on 2nd shift with 460V three-phase equipment, laboratory testing, and occasional weekend/after-hours maintenance? Summary: Experience with HVAC equipment, a strong understanding of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics, and the ability to work in a laboratory environment focused on performance testing and product validation. This role is responsible for test execution, running the chillers in water-cooled and air-cooled labs. Individuals should be able to set up test environment, calibration and drive efficient chiller operation The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in testing and troubleshooting water- and air-cooled commercial chillers, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient lab environment. Responsibilities: Chiller test operation at high efficiency. Performs basic to moderately complex technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects.  Operates, inspects and maintains chillers, test setups and equipment.   Should be able to work with electrical equipment, including 460-3-60 machinery, with HVAC operation, refrigerant handling, and EPA certification. Select, connect and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical and refrigeration systems on Charlotte manufactured equipment.  Minimum requirements: Technical/Business School Certificate or High School Diploma or GED or Skilled Trades Apprenticeship 1+ years of experience with hand/pneumatic tools, flow, temperature pressure measuring equipment, Handling precision measuring instruments Preferred requirement: 3 + Yrs. experience in Chiller/HVAC operations, station 2+ Yrs. shop experience in mechanical/electrical machinery. Experience working with chiller control systems (Carrier, Trane, York, Daikin, etc.)
