Job description

LP Maintenance Team Lead

Position Overview

The LP Maintenance Team Lead is a working leader’s role supporting internal and external customer needs and requirements while achieving specific project goals and objectives.  The LP Maintenance Team Lead oversees the day-to-day operations of the truck, trailer and heavy equipment maintenance and other machinery. The equipment the Team Lead will maintain/manage with the team are multi-use Class 8 trucks, multi-axle hydraulic trailers, van trailers, gon-trailers, and various supporting yard trucks and trailers.  

Accountabilities

  • Implement PADNOS Safety Responsibility Rules processes and expectations daily with team members by working to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Assure the highest level of quality in all tasks being performed making sure that all equipment is in good working order and meets all safety standards according to DOT and company standards. 
  • Inspect equipment and delegate work to Mechanics to complete tasks.
  • Train new Team Members on company procedures and how to safely work on equipment.
  • Monitor lube tech services and oil samples being sent into Mobil Serv for analysis.
  • Communicate with Transportation Team on the status of their out-of-service equipment, i.e., timeline, plan, and parts delay updates.
  • Follow up on all critical equipment status to ensure minimum down time.
  • Ensure work orders are created for all work in process or pending per department compliance to ensure KPI accuracy. 
  • Process all SAMSARA reported equipment issues.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance Coach to ensure PM compliance.
  • Ensure all Mechanics have 100% of their work time billed out in Mainsaver and charged to appropriate equipment.
  • Update Out of Service equipment as equipment status changes.
  • Promote a positive attitude in the garage and inspire Team Members.
  • Work in conjunction with Maintenance Coach to report and address issues.
  • Assist in leading a culture of diversity, inclusion, fairness, accountability equity, and high standards with all personnel. 
  • Exceed KPI targets through team-based leadership. 
  • Work directly with Maintenance Coach to assess workflow improvements in and out of the shop.

Qualifications 

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engines, after treatment, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong commitment to safety and improvement. 
  • 2 plus years’ experience leading a team of individuals in a maintenance environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Enjoys technology and is proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
  •  Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
  • Must be able to perform to all essential functions of the position with or without accommodations. 
  •  Knowledge of DOT law and commitment to compliance.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
