The opportunity
Our Scientific team partners with global pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to develop scientifically rigorous, strategically aligned, and compliant medical communications that educate healthcare professionals and ultimately improve patient outcomes. Working as part of multidisciplinary account teams, you'll collaborate with experts across medical, editorial, creative, digital, and client services to deliver high-impact scientific content across the product lifecycle.
As a Principal Medical Writer, you will be recognized as a scientific expert who leads the development of high-quality, strategically aligned medical communications for complex client programs. You'll combine deep therapeutic expertise with exceptional scientific writing, critical thinking, and strategic insight to create compelling content that supports client objectives while meeting the highest standards of scientific accuracy and compliance.
You'll also serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentor colleagues, contribute to scientific strategy, and play an active role in business development and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Develop high-quality, scientifically accurate, compliant content across a broad range of medical communications deliverables.
  • Apply deep therapeutic area expertise and scientific knowledge to support client communication strategies.
  • Lead and contribute to scientific strategy development for complex client programs.
  • Review and provide scientific oversight and feedback on colleagues' work to ensure quality and strategic alignment.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and external experts through scientific discussions and presentations.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Support project planning by contributing to timelines, project specifications, budgets, and milestone tracking.
  • Mentor and support junior scientific team members while contributing to recruitment and talent development initiatives.
  • Contribute scientific expertise to new business proposals, pitch presentations, and organic account growth opportunities.
  • Stay current with therapeutic area developments, industry trends, regulatory requirements, and emerging scientific evidence.

Do you have what we are looking for?
Skills & expertise
  • An advanced degree (PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent) in a life sciences or clinical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Typically 8-10 years of medical communications, publications, HEOR, or market access experience.
  • Demonstrated experience developing high-quality scientific content across multiple medical communications deliverables.
  • Strong therapeutic area expertise with the ability to rapidly learn new disease areas.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong scientific interpretation and critical analysis skills.
  • Experience managing multiple projects while consistently delivering high-quality work to deadlines.
  • Confidence communicating scientific concepts with clients, key opinion leaders, and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent collaboration and relationship-building skills within global multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with literature databases, reference management software (e.g., EndNote), and medical communications platforms such as Datavision or Zinc is advantageous.
