Job Description
The Environmental Services Technician performs a variety of cleaning tasks under general direction. In order to achieve the highest cleaning standards possible the Environmental Services Technician performs floor care, dust mopping sweeping outside areas, scrubbing, stripping, and buffing, shampooing and spill removal. Damp washing of counters, telephones, desks, ledges, etc. Washing light fixtures, ceiling, and walls involves use of ladders or step stools. Trash and soiled linen removal. Isolation room cleaning as prescribed in written procedures. Changing of cubical curtains and drapes. Cleaning and maintaining of environmental tools and equipment. Cleaning of occupied patient areas and dismissals. Cleaning other related duties as assigned to ensure the highest quality of service throughout the facility.

Required Experience
Required:
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English.
  • Must be able to continuously stand, bend, stoop, walk, reach, climb, push and lift heavy objects.

Preferred:
  • At least one (1) year of previous environmental services experience in a health care facility.
  • High school diploma.
