Cleveland Clinic's Environmental Services (EVS) Department is consistently ranked among the highest-performing EVS teams in healthcare. As Team Lead, you will work to create the comfortable and safe environment our patients have come to expect by ensuring all assigned facility areas are clean, fully stocked and organized.Lead a team of Environmental Service Area or Floor Technicians with daily assignments directed by the supervising management team. Provides orientation and training to the caregivers in assigned areas. Collaborates with other Environmental Services Team Leads, and supervisory team as needed to coordinate and create a sanitary, safe environment to enhance the appearance of the facility. Performs job functions across all settings. Serves asresourcethat is knowledgeable of all job functions and responsibilities.Your efforts help enhance the Cleveland Clinic experience andassistother caregivers in providing attentive patient care.

A caregiver in this position works 7:00am to 3:30pm with rotating full weekends and holidays.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Orient and train caregivers.
  • Assistwith scheduling to ensure resource availability and reassign schedules as needed.
  • Inform supervisor of performance concerns and policy violations.
  • Follow andassistwith adherence to policies and procedures on patient isolation and Environmental Services standards.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital-wide and departmental safety requirements.
  • Collaborate with Environmental Services Team Leads and management tomaintaina sanitary, safe environment.
  • Clean various areas including patient rooms, exam rooms, offices, waiting areas, public restrooms, discharge rooms, and surgical/non-surgical rooms.
  • Stock paper items and other supplies in patient rooms, exam rooms, and restrooms.
  • Perform daily cleaning tasks such as dust mopping, vacuuming, gum removal, and buffing hard floor surfaces.
  • Complete waste stream removal, including general waste, recycling, and infectious waste.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year of experience in an environmental services or housekeeping role with strong customer service skills
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with others through teamwork
  • Ability to provide direction on departmental policies and procedures, various cleaning and patient hospitality techniques, proper use and storage of cleaning agents, chemicals, and cleaning equipment

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires full body motion, including ability to perform work while lifting, bending, stooping, crouching, squatting, and reaching.
  • Requires continuous walking and standing on hard surfaces.
  • Requires regular handling and use of disinfectants and other cleaning agents and chemicals.
  • Light Work - Exerting 11 to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $18.55

Maximum hourly: $24.81
