Job description

comprehend and have conversational English in order to be considered.
Summary:
Maintains the cleanliness of patient and hospital facilities for the best and safest health care at each hospital. Responsible for cleaning and servicing assigned areas. Demonstrates the ability to utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to departmental procedure. May be required to assist with the training and onboarding of new EVS associates. Performs all assigned tasks in a professional manner in order to reflect the highest integrity of the Environmental Services Department.
Responsibilities:
Utilize industrial cleaning machinery to perform certain cleaning assignments.
Performs routine cleaning of assigned areas in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
Sets up patient rooms & cleans patient rooms after discharge in a timely manner.
Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure. Ensures all chemicals are diluted to the proper ratio and that all chemicals are properly labeled and locked up when not in use.
Transports trash, biomedical and solid waste to appropriate disposal area.
Distributes linens to patient wings and removes dirty linen (not applicable in all locations).
Follows all infection control practices including hand washing techniques, Standard Precautions and isolation precautions. Utilizes the appropriate chemicals and disinfectant according to procedure and cleaning routine to prevent the spread of infection.
Observes and reports the need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
Performs special projects as assigned by EVS Lead.
Collaborates with management to train new staff on assigned job duties
Ability to do work on his/her own with normal supervision.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required:
Ability to communicate in English. A minimum of 1 year of experience in
EVS in a healthcare or hospitality setting.
