Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project Manager - Remediation to join our Remediation team based in Raleigh, NC office. You will work with a diverse team of technical leaders across a broad range of practice areas delivering remediation consulting services to our key clients. This position is expected to begin immediately.
The successful candidate will assume leadership roles on projects with the design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation. The successful candidate will have the ability to communicate effectively with members of the project team, clients, site personnel and office management, and work both independently and as a part of a project team.
This position will also assist in the performance of regulatory compliance inspections, sampling, and reporting associated with the implementation of permit and/or regulator requirements for commercial/industrial facilities.
The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:
  • Act as Project Manager on small to mid-sized projects, responsible for technical delivery, schedule management, fiscal management, client liaison, reporting requirements, and coordination with project team members. Projects may include site investigations, system operations and maintenance, remediation, and long term monitoring, with state and industrial clients.
  • Coordinate and prepare written reports, work plans, and technical memorandums; analyze data and develop supported conclusions.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to increase project efficiencies, improve technical methodologies and add value to client service offerings.
  • Oversee the work of less experienced scientists, and provides mentorship or training as needed
  • Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures
  • Perform complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems

Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • BA/BS in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field + 4 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Due to the nature of this work, United States citizenship is a requirement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Master's Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Professional Geologist (P.G.) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) Licensure, certifications, and/or accreditations
  • Current OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training and Refreshers
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting with focus in site assessment and/or remediation
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Proficient technical writing (remedial investigation reports, corrective action studies, etc.)
  • Familiarity with State (i.e., NCDEQ, etc.) and Federal Environmental Regulations
