Job description

Environmental Field Technician II
Location: Exton, PA
Full-Time | Field-Based Role


Groundwater & Environmental Services, Inc. (GES) is a nationally respected environmental consulting and engineering firm known for delivering high-quality, science-based solutions across a broad range of industries. Our teams are passionate about protecting the environment and ensuring regulatory compliance, all while delivering exceptional client service.

Weโ€™re currently seeking an experienced Environmental Field Technician to support environmental monitoring, remediation, and construction activities for our Exton, Pennsylvania office. This is a hands-on, field-based role ideal for someone who brings both environmental field experience and mechanical aptitude to the table.

What Youโ€™ll Do:
  • Perform soil, groundwater, and vapor sampling in accordance with project scopes and regulatory protocols.

  • Conduct well development and groundwater monitoring activities.

  • Support operation and maintenance (O&M) of environmental remediation systems.

  • Supervise subcontractors during tank removals, subsurface excavations, and equipment/piping installations.

  • Complete equipment troubleshooting, basic mechanical repairs, and routine maintenance of environmental systems.

  • Maintain detailed and accurate field notes and calibration logs.

  • Assist with warehouse tasks and general site upkeep.

  • Ensure adherence to GES safety protocols and engineering standards in all tasks.

What You Bring:
  • 2โ€“4+ years of relevant environmental field experience

  • Strong mechanical skills and hands-on troubleshooting ability.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER certification (or willingness to complete training upon hire).

  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including some weekends, overnights, and short-term travel.

  • Willingness to work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Detail-oriented, team-focused, and a strong communicator.

  • Valid driverโ€™s license and clean driving record.
