Job description

This role supports the mission and Core Values of HGC Industries by performing the final quality checks before HGC products ship to the customer. The Final Inspector inspects and measures parts during the final audit/inspection to verify that they meet quality standards. After parts pass inspection, assist in preparing parts for shipping following customer and HGC guidelines. In instances where parts do not meet quality standards, troubleshoot the parts and reject them back to production for re-inspection.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Responsible for conducting the final quality check on all Hoosier Gasket products before they are shipped to customers.
  • Uses measuring equipment correctly and with consistent accuracy. This includes the following:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Mylar overlays
  • Demonstrate a strong ability to read and interpret engineer drawings.
  • Records quality data accurately on forms/documents, as required.
  • Reject parts that do not meet quality criteria and send them back for re-inspection.
  • Assists in preparing parts that passed final inspection for shipment, following customer and HGC guidelines.
  • Assist with other QA duties when needed.
  • May be asked to perform other duties at a lower level or higher level of proficiency.
  • Follows safety rules and guidelines at all times.
  • Foster strong relationships across departments and team members to promote collaboration, support peer development, and drive organizational growth.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous QA and inspection experience in a manufacturing setting is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Sitting for long periods - 5-10 hours per day
  • Standing for long periods - 5-10 hours per day
  • Walking for long periods - 1-5 hours per day
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl โ€“ Occasionally
  • Push, pull, twist, reach, & engage in rapid reflex movements
  • Occasionally lift and carry objects (30 lbs. maximum)
  • Occasionally climb/use a ladder

ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:

Fast-paced, deadline-oriented manufacturing plant and office. The person will be exposed to noise, dirt, dust, fumes, odors, chemicals, and other airborne particles.ย  They will use heavy machinery and/or hand or power tools.ย  Will work with or near dry ice, CO2 gas, and/or silicone.ย  Wear protective clothing/equipment.ย  May work in areas of extreme heat.

COMPENSATION:ย $17.00 - $20.00 per hour based on experienceย
