Job description

This role is 100% remote and can be based anywhere in the United States. 

Our client is a leader in environmental remediation (Coal Combustion Residual / CCR), construction, and recycling, with over 20 years of experience and more than 1,000 successful projects under their belt. 

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Project Manager to lead a multi-year, $400M environmental remediation and construction project at a coal power plant site in the Midwest (Location is confidential). 90% of this project will involve removing the CCR and putting it in an enclosure/landfill. This is a high-visibility, long-term opportunity to join an elite team and deliver lasting environmental impact through engineering excellence and leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage all phases of a large-scale remediation and landfill construction project, ensuring delivery on time and within budget.
  • Oversee and coordinate a core team of engineers, supervisors, QA/QC, and health & safety professionals.
  • Serve as the main interface for clients and key stakeholders, maintaining communication and building trust throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure project compliance with environmental regulations, safety standards, and company procedures.
  • Manage project finances, reporting, and forecasting against established schedules and deliverables.
  • Periodically visit the site for inspections and problem-solving; most work is office-based with minimal required travel.
  • Drive innovation and excellence in remediation systems and construction management.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in leading and managing large CCR (Coal Combustion Residual) remediation projects
  • Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Advanced knowledge of landfill construction and environmental remediation.
  • Expertise in compliance, risk management, budgeting, and multidisciplinary team supervision.
  • PMP or PE certification is a plus
