Job Title: Data Governance SME
Location: Remote; Washington, DC or Boston, MA strongly preferred
Work Type: Full-Time, $150-160k/year + comprehensive benefits package
Clearance: Active Secret Clearance required (or has previously held a security clearance)
Status: Contingent Upon Award
Potential Start Date: June 1, 2026

Job Summary

KeyLogic is seeking a Data Governance SME to support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) Chief Data and AI Office (CDAO) in executing enterprise data governance initiatives across mission domains.

This role focuses on driving governance execution through structured coordination, stakeholder alignment, and operational discipline to ensure governance bodies function effectively and enterprise data challenges are clearly identified, communicated, and addressed.

The selected candidate will serve as a key integrator across data owners, architects, governance leadership, and mission stakeholders - helping translate governance strategy into sustainable operational processes that improve enterprise data readiness, data sharing, and organizational adoption.

This position is contingent upon contract award.


What You'll Do
  • Coordinate and support enterprise and domain-level data governance councils, boards, and working groups
  • Facilitate stakeholder discussions to drive alignment on data ownership, stewardship, governance priorities, and remediation actions
  • Serve as a primary interface between governance leadership and mission/domain teams
  • Track and manage governance actions, decisions, risks, and follow-ups across the enterprise
  • Identify, document, and communicate governance gaps, data blockers, and operational challenges in a clear and actionable manner
  • Translate governance strategies into practical workflows, governance processes, artifacts, and operational procedures
  • Drive adoption of governance practices through stakeholder engagement, coordination, and communication efforts
  • Support development and refinement of the enterprise data governance operating model and organizational structure
  • Assist with executive briefings, stakeholder updates, status reporting, and governance communications
  • Contribute to Agile execution activities including PI planning, feature coordination, sprint alignment, and reporting
  • Provide governance inputs to Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) activities and related deliverables

Required Education
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical, business, or management-related field
  • 5-8 years of relevant professional experience

Required Qualifications
  • Experience supporting data governance, program coordination, stakeholder engagement, or organizational governance initiatives
  • Experience supporting organizational change management, adoption, or process improvement efforts
  • Demonstrated experience facilitating governance forums, steering groups, working sessions, or cross-functional coordination efforts
  • Strong ability to communicate, coordinate, and build relationships across technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including development of executive-level briefings and status updates
  • Experience identifying, tracking, and communicating risks, issues, blockers, and remediation activities in complex environments
  • Ability to translate high-level governance concepts into clear, actionable messaging and operational execution
  • Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders simultaneously
  • Ability to operate effectively in fast-paced and evolving environments
  • Active Secret Clearance required (or ability to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting DoD, DAF, or federal data governance initiatives
  • Familiarity with data maturity models, governance operating models, or enterprise data management frameworks
  • Exposure to data catalogs, metadata management practices, or enterprise data management tools
  • Experience supporting enterprise-level coordination across multiple domains, mission areas, or organizations
