Job description

Now Hiring: Environmental Engineer
Location: La Porte, TX & Crosby, TX

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to support environmental compliance and EHS initiatives across two chemical manufacturing facilities in the Houston area. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with plant leadership to ensure regulatory compliance while driving continuous improvement in environmental performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations
  • Prepare and submit required environmental reports, including DMRs, TSCA, SARA, NPDES, Title V, RCRA, and RMP documentation
  • Manage environmental permits and coordinate compliance testing activities
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM), Management of Change (MOC), and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (PSSR)
  • Lead environmental incident investigations and maintain compliance documentation
  • Coordinate internal and external EHS audits
  • Develop and maintain EHS procedures, training programs, and regulatory records
  • Manage hazardous and non-hazardous waste shipments
  • Support emergency response planning, product stewardship, and occupational exposure programs
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams to promote a strong safety and environmental culture

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field with at least 5 years of chemical plant experience
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, hazardous materials handling, and environmental regulations
  • Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering
  • Experience with environmental permitting and regulatory agencies
  • Experience in PSM-regulated chemical facilities
  • Strong knowledge of EPA, state environmental, and DOT regulations

Work Schedule:

  • Three days per week in La Porte, TX
  • Two days per week in Crosby, TX
