S&ME is seeking an eager and hard-working Engineer to join our Environmental team in Huntsville, Alabama.


As an Environmental Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of projects that shape safer, cleaner communities, balancing handson fieldwork with impactful officebased analysis.

Your Day-to-Day:

  • Field Leadership - Take charge of soil and groundwater sampling, oversee drilling operations, and guide monitoring well installations to ensure accurate, highquality data collection.
  • Data & Reporting - Transform environmental data into clear insights by preparing technical reports and regulatory documentation that drive informed decisions.
  • Project Collaboration - Partner with colleagues to plan and execute site investigations and remediation efforts, maintaining strict quality standards and compliance with environmental regulations.
  • Client Engagement - Build strong relationships by communicating findings and project updates effectively to clients, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Proposal & Scheduling - Contribute to winning new work by drafting proposals, while keeping projects on track through schedule management and deadline monitoring.
  • Financial Insight - Support business growth by evaluating project budgets and assisting with strategic business development initiatives.

What You Bring:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, or a related field
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional environmental engineering experience
  • Successful completion of the FE exam
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) and on track to obtain a Professional Engineer (PE) license
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Excellent business development abilities and existing client relationships in the local market are preferred

Working Conditions and Physical Demands:

You are willing and able to perform the physical demands of this position with the use of Company-provided Personal Protective Equipment, such as:

  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40-50lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
