Job description

Position: Assistant Environmental Manager

The Assistant Environmental Manager is responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of the buildings and grounds, including making repairs and improvements. Assists in renovating and turning over units in all Northern New Jersey facilities and programs.  

Location: Rahway, NJ 07065

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED with three years of maintenance / construction experience preferred.
  • This position shall also have a valid state driver’s license with a safe driving record that meets agency procedures.

 

Assistant Environmental Manager Principal Responsibilities:

  • Clean and repair facilities in accordance with the schedule and priority level.
  • Assist in preparing facilities areas for appropriate program use.
  • Complete and update work orders that are assigned to you by your supervisor.
  • Accept and transport deliveries of supplies, furniture, and other program materials.
  • Assist in renovating facilities throughout the Northern New Jersey service area. 
  • Assist in routine site safety inspections and preventive maintenance, which may include heating, refrigeration, boilers, plumbing units, equipment and fixtures and carpentry.
  • You will be on a rotating on-call schedule and rotate will other facilities team members.
  • Provide back up in emergency safety situations.
