Job description

Introduction
At IBM, Solution Architects work to understand needs and then create complex high-quality solutions that make meaningful impact. You'll be responsible for overall leadership and delivery of the solutions from requirement gathering through implementation.
You'll use your in-depth knowledge of leading-edge products and technologies along with industry and business skills to influence outcomes
Your role and responsibilities
The Solution Architect is responsible for working closely with customers to understand mission-critical company directives and develop technical solutions to support the business needs and technical requirements, then apply AI solutions to address the needs.
This role is specifically required to use a mix of consultative skills, technical expertise, and the latest IBM AI software to guide customers in building solutions involving agentic AI.
This includes:
• Reviewing customers' environment to ensure it meets all pre-requisites
• Helping define customers' Agentic AI use cases
• Helping assess customers Agentic AI application requirements
• Assisting customers with designing and implementing Agentic AI applications Throughout the solutioning process, the Solution Architect will participate in workshops to help customers understand advantages of proposed solutions and best practice approaches to Agentic AI including prompt-engineering, chatbot development, and search/information retrieval.
Required education
High School Diploma/GED
Preferred education
Bachelor's Degree
Required technical and professional expertise
• Background (courses or work experience) in LLM AI models and platforms (e.g. watsonx.ai).
• Background (courses or work experience) with conversational and agentic AI
• Background (courses or work experience) with software development.
Preferred technical and professional experience
• Skills with Data Science and traditional AI/ML modeling evaluation (classification, regression)
• Understanding of AI Governance.
• Experience in solution architectures.
