About this opportunity:

The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part-time instructors to teach a variety of art history courses, including AHS 101 Art in a Globalized World: Art History before 1500 CE, AHS 102 Art in a Globalized World: Art History after 1500 CE, and upper-level courses in the candidate's area of expertise. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three sections and we offer both online and in-person modalities.
Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered. All instructors are expected to communicate regularly with students, provide meaningful and timely assessments, post course information on Canvas, and submit grades and other reports on time.
The School of Art has over forty full-time faculty and staff and offers state-of-the-art facilities serving more than 700 undergraduate majors. Programs at the BA, BS, and BFA levels include art education, art history, graphic design, animation production, illustration, game art/design, visual effects, and a studio art program that includes drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, metals + jewelry, sculpture, photography, and video and new media. School of Art students enjoy world-class facilities, with over 73,000 square feet of classroom, gallery, and studio space in the Art and Journalism Building, Applied Technology Building, and the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation. Ball State University is accredited by the National Association for Schools of Art and Design.
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
