Job description

Job Description
This Product Designer role will support Next Generation Point of Sale (NGPOS) initiative to modernize the checkout experience across our stores, pharmacies, and fuel centers.
The candidate will work as part of a Product Design team focused on NGPOSs end-user experience, data platform, and release enablement tool. The ideal candidate will be located near our Blue Ash Technology office to validate UX onsite in our test lab and be comfortable visiting stores to observe technology, associates, and customers firsthand.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
Conducting research with NGPOSs wide range of end users (including cashiers, in-store shoppers, service desk representatives, and fuel center attendants) to understand each audiences unique needs and pain points
Leading and facilitating collaborative workshops with large cross-functional groups, including attendees from Engineering, Product Management, Architecture, and Retail Operations, to solve both experience and technical challenges
Working closely with multiple development teams to provide upfront design direction, participate in agile ceremonies, and collaborate with Quality Engineering to ensure developed solutions align with the overall experience vision
Building and maintaining UX artifacts such as personas, user journeys, and service blueprints to effectively illustrate the complexity of the point-of-sale ecosystem and its many touchpoints
Understanding the role data (both qualitative and quantitative) plays in design, including how to effectively capture, synthesize, and apply it to make informed design decisions
Demonstrating awareness of AI and a willingness to adopt emerging AI tools and workflows as part of the design process

Project person will be supporting Next Gen POS
Work Location (in office, hybrid, remote) Local Only, ideally 5 days onsite, BTC -it is a huge plus if the candidate is excited to be onsite, the BTC has a Point of Sale lab where they can test/develop and that will be very beneficial to the role as well as collaboration
Is travel required Small travel, in the next 6-12 months there are stores opening in Louisville and Sothern Indiana, might have contractor drive to see them
Max Rate if applicable Submit at best market rate
Interview process - 1 or 2 interviews with different members from program, another Designer and Product manager or engineer, Cross discipline panel
