Job description

Outsource is looking for motivated individuals who want to start a career in the rapidly growing data center and network infrastructure industry. No previous data center, cabling, networking, or construction experience is required. We are looking for dependable, entry-level candidates who are ready to learn a skilled trade and travel nationwide.

Selected candidates will receive paid, hands-on training designed to prepare them to work as Hyperscale Network Specialists inside large-scale data center environments. Training will cover the fundamentals of structured cabling, fiber optics, network infrastructure, testing, troubleshooting, quality control, and data center operations.

Important: This is not a traditional Monday-Friday, 9-to-5 position. Full-time nationwide travel, mandatory overtime, and 24/7 availability based on project needs are requirements of the job.

What You'll Learn & Do

• Perform network and installation audits within hyperscale data centers.

• Validate structured cabling infrastructure, including copper and fiber-optic systems.

• Inspect network cabinets, patch panels, fiber enclosures, cabling, and network hardware.

• Assist with network testing, connectivity validation, and basic troubleshooting.

• Check patch schedules, port schedules, cable labels, and asset information for accuracy.

• Learn to identify issues such as incorrect patching, damaged cables, fiber contamination, polarity issues, and labeling discrepancies.

• Support fiber-optic testing and learn to use industry testing equipment.

• Assist with cable and fiber remediation, patch corrections, labeling corrections, and equipment reseats.

• Document completed work, testing results, and identified issues.

• Support commissioning, customer walkdowns, quality inspections, and turnover activities.

• Follow all company, customer, and jobsite safety requirements and maintain organized work areas, tools, and equipment.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.

• No previous industry experience required.

• Must be willing and able to travel nationwide on a full-time basis.

• Must have 24/7 availability and flexibility to work days, nights, weekends, and changing shifts based on project needs.

• Mandatory overtime is required; schedules may regularly exceed 40 hours per week.

• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to follow detailed instructions, safety procedures, and customer requirements.

• Must be willing to complete all required training, customer onboarding, and project-specific qualifications.

• Must be comfortable working in active construction and data center environments and working effectively as part of a team.

Physical & Work Requirements

This position involves working in active construction and hyperscale data center environments. Candidates must be able to regularly stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform physical work throughout the shift. The role may require lifting and moving materials up to approximately 40 pounds, carrying and climbing ladders, working at elevated heights or in confined spaces, and operating equipment such as scissor lifts or boom lifts after appropriate training and authorization.

What Outsource Provides

• Paid entry-level training.

• Hands-on instruction in data center and network infrastructure.

• Training in structured cabling, fiber-optic systems, network testing, and troubleshooting.

• Necessary hand tools and equipment upon successful completion of training.

• Nationwide project opportunities and weekly pay.

• Opportunities to develop advanced technical skills and build a long-term career in the hyperscale data center industry.

Who We're Looking For

We're not looking for someone who already knows everything about data centers. We're looking for someone who shows up, works hard, learns quickly, follows directions, and is willing to travel.

This opportunity is ideal for someone who wants to build a technical career without previous industry experience or a college degree. If you're willing to put in the hours, travel where the work takes you, and learn a specialized trade, Outsource will provide the training and opportunity to get started.
