Job Title: Intern Software Engineer - Trading Systems

 

Company Description

RTX Fintech and Research develops and operates the 1st fully electronic inter-dealer marketplace for interest rate swaps and other derivatives.  The marketplace is an innovative platform that provides dealers with fast, efficient price discovery, electronic execution and straight-through processing. 

RTX is regulated Swap Execution Facility (SEF) in the US and a Multilateral Trading Facility (MTF) in Europe.

 

Role Description

Opportunity to develop, test and operate a global, real-time interactive trading system for the interdealer marketplace.  This is a hands-on, full-stack software engineering role in Java, JavaSript and node.js.

Role Type

  • Internship: Sep - Dec 2026 (12 weeks) - can be extended
  • Full time in office (lower Manhattan, NYC) - remote work not available for this role. 

Responsibilities and Deliverables

  • Design and develop trading system components covering UI, order management, trading matching, routing and post-trade processing
  • Design and develop automated testing, monitoring and alerting for the trading platform
  • Work closely with the trading desk to understand system operations
  • Triage critical production issues and provide rapid response during trading system incidents as part of the level 3 response team

Mandatory Experience

  • None - this is an entry-level position

  • Software engineering and/or test automation for high volume transaction processing
