Details:
Business Process Analyst - IT Applications
Location: Woodlands TX (4 days onsite)
Duration: 6-12 months
The Business Process Analyst - IT Applications and Internal Controls will be responsible for assisting the Senior Manager, Applications in the maintenance, support, and analysis of enterprise applications and understanding and being the implementation champion of the ITGC framework and controls activities. They will regularly work with internal and external auditor to provide required documentation for controls testing. They will regularly work with the SAP application management team to gather information requested to document compliance with the ITGS framework and IT Policies. They will regularly work with colleagues in the infrastructure, applications and support teams regarding (1) application evaluation and implementation and (2) process changes to ensure compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following activities. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions:
Internal Controls
  • Develop an annual plan to implement the ITGC framework and controls activities to ensure that it complies with internal and external audit requirements.
  • Follow up with the parties that are responsible for ITGC control activities to ensure that they are aware of deadlines and respond in a timely, compliant manner.
  • Ensure that documentation of compliance with ITGC control activities is received, complete and compliant, and archived in the appropriate repository.
  • Identify risks of non-compliance and potential mitigating actions.
  • Interface with internal and external auditors to provide the documentation that they request.
  • Manage the semi-annual user access reviews for client's SAP ERP. Work with Internal Audit to address / remove or mitigate violations of segregation of duties.
  • Review privileged access in the SAP ERP landscape (applications and servers).
  • Ensure the effectiveness of governance process for SAP ERP role creation and assignment to users.
  • Work with the Support Team regarding current and future environment changes and needs.
  • Review each major change for compliance with the client's software development lifecycle.
  • Assist the Change Manager to ensure that changes coming before the Change Advisory Board have complete documentation.
  • Ensure that the third-party SAP ERP application management team demonstrates and reports-out on the effectiveness of their internal controls as required by the client's ITGC framework.
  • Work with the third-party SAP ERP application management team to plan and schedule regular Production system backups and the annual DR test.
  • Send Regular Scheduled reports to Senior Manager, Applications regarding ITGC controls activities.
  • Other Duties as defined by the Senior Manager, Applications

Business Process Analysis
  • Research and analyze data in support of business functions, process knowledge, and systems requirements.
  • Meet with decision makers, systems owners, and end users to understand business, financial, and operations requirements and systems goals.
  • Research, review, and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing processes and develop strategies for enhancing or further leveraging these processes.
  • Prototype new procedures for the purpose of enhancing business processes, operations, and information process flow.
  • Generate and compile reports based on his or her findings, complete with recommended improvements to - or new requirements for - business processes and operational procedures.
  • Collaborate in the planning, design, development, and deployment of new applications, and enhancements to existing applications.

Support
  • Work with third-party SAP ERP application management team to troubleshoot and monitor SAP ERP break fixes and user inquiries.
  • Work with the Support team to ensure that service tickets related to the SAP ERP user access requests are addressed effectively and in a timely manner. Ensure that separated employees are disabled in a timely manner based on notification from the HR process.
  • Work with the Support Team regarding current and future environment changes and needs.

Qualifications, Experience & Educational Requirements:
This position requires a 4-year degree in computer science, management information systems, accounting, or related field. Relevant experience with SAP GRC is preferred, but not required. Three years of relevant experience with SAP ERP Application support and / or Internal Audit controls and ITGCs is preferred, but not required. Direct knowledge of and exposure to Sarbanes Oxley (SOx) requirements (testing, evaluating, and documenting controls for compliance) is preferred, but not required. Work towards a Certified Internal Systems Auditor certification is preferred, but not required.
