Steel Detailer (Tekla Preferred)
Carlisle, PA
$75,000 โ€“ $85,000/year (Based on Experience)

A growing structural and miscellaneous metals company in the Carlisle area is actively hiring a Steel Detailer to support fabrication and project execution. This is a high-impact role with long-term growth, including involvement in future automation and advanced fabrication technology.

Important:

Only candidates with relevant steel detailing experience and who live within a 60-mile radius will be considered. We are NOT looking for subcontractors, remote detailers, hybrid detailers, etc.


This is not an entry-level drafting position.


What Youโ€™ll Be Doing:
  • Create detailed shop drawings using Tekla or similar detailing software
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings
  • Produce accurate layouts for fabrication and installation
  • Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and shop teams
  • Review drawings to ensure accuracy, completeness, and efficiency
  • Assist with material takeoffs and project planning
  • Support implementation of future automation systems and software


Requirements
What Weโ€™re Looking For:
  • 2+ years of steel detailing experience (structural or miscellaneous metals)
  • Experience with Tekla Structures preferred (or SDS/2, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of fabrication processes and steel construction
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs independently
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to learn new systems and automation technology
