Job Summary:
ASSYST is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Technical Writer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of technical and operational documentation. The role involves creating and editing documentation, collaborating with subject matter experts, and ensuring compliance with quality standards.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the creation, editing, and maintenance of technical and operational documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), guidance documents, and strategic materials.
• Support documentation efforts for quarterly and annual audits, ensuring timely and accurate artifact submission.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) and task leads to ensure content clarity, consistency, and alignment with program objectives.
• Ensure all documentation adheres to quality standards and complies with Section 508 accessibility requirements.
• Provide operational and communication support to program management teams, helping coordinate deliverables and maintain stakeholder engagement.
• Support the facilitation of monthly cybersecurity reporting forums and assist in maintaining effective information flow across teams.
• Prepare and deliver structured cyber risk reporting outputs to stakeholders in a timely manner.
• Maintain and organize content repositories across multiple platforms, ensuring proper version control and accessibility.
• Coordinate meetings, schedules, and communications with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Track documentation progress, risks, and dependencies; contribute to quarterly reporting and roadmap updates.
• Assist in maintaining organizational charts, architecture diagrams, and public-facing cybersecurity content (e.g., blogs or knowledge portals).
Qualifications:
Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 1–2 years of professional technical writing experience (required).
• Acceptable experience may include proposal writing, grant writing, medical writing, or similar professional documentation roles.
• Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, user-friendly documentation.
• Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite and collaboration/document management tools.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
Preferred:
• Exposure to cybersecurity, IT, or federal/government environments.
• Familiarity with Section 508 compliance and accessibility standards.
• Experience with content management systems and version control practices.
• Basic understanding of reporting frameworks or risk management concepts.
