SUMMARY
The Technical Project Manager I is responsible for coordinating and driving a variety of technical projects from initiation through completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives. In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to gather requirements, develop project plans, and oversee execution to meet timelines and budgets. You'll leverage your project management expertise to support compliance, system standardization, and continuous improvement initiatives, while also promoting efficient use of project tools and practices across the organization. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by delivering solutions that enhance operational efficiency and support company growth
LOCATION
Onsite at our global headquarters in Grand Rapids, MI or remote out of Atlanta, GA with occasional travel to Grand Rapids.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversee and coordinate technical projects in collaboration with Operations Systems and Business Improvement Manager
  • Gather project requirements, define responsibilities, and develop project charters with stakeholders
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, setting realistic timelines, budget estimates, and priority tasks for multiple cross-functional projects
  • Monitor and control project execution to ensure delivery within the approved budget, timeline, and defined scope
  • Maintain thorough project documentation, including charters, specifications, status updates, and post-project reviews
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, managing expectations and ensuring cross-team alignment
  • Administer and standardize Jira, Jira Service management, and Confluence usage, creating workflows, automations, and reports to improve efficiency and adoption across the organization
  • Dedicate time to learning and integrating new capabilities within Jira and Confluence for continual improvement
REQUIREMENTS
  • 1-2 years of relevant project coordination or project management experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills, foundational project management abilities, and the capability to work across functions
  • Certifications: PMP certification in progress or actively working towards it within the next 1-2 years
  • Technical Proficiency: Basic proficiency in project planning and management tools, particularly Jira and Confluence
  • Competencies: Understanding of project lifecycles, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to building system knowledge as needed
  • Growth Mindset: Willingness to continually develop project management, system administration, and stakeholder communication skills
