Job description

We’re hiring a Technical Project Manager to be the connective tissue between our clients, our product vision, and the code that ships. This is a hands‑on, technical role for someone who can read a pull request in the morning, run a client scoping call at noon, and unblock an engineer before end of day. Think of it as the caliber of leadership a top‑tier outsourced development team would give you — except homegrown, in‑house, and based right here in the U.S.

You’ll own delivery end to end: translating business requirements into technical specs, sequencing the work, keeping engineering on track, and making sure what we build actuallysolves the client’s problem. Because you understand both the front end and the back end, nothing gets lost in translation between what a client asks for and what our team builds.

What you'll do:
  • Own the full delivery lifecycle for client and internal projects — from kickoff and scoping through launch and iteration.
  • Translate client and stakeholder requirements into clear technical specifications, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Coordinate engineering, product, and client‑success teams to keep timelines, dependencies, and priorities aligned.
  • Review front‑end and back‑end work at a technical level — you can evaluate feasibility, spot risk early, and ask the right questions in code and architecture discussions.
  • Run project rituals: sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and status reporting that keeps everyone honest.
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, setting realistic expectations and communicating progress with clarity.
  • Identify blockers before they become fires, and drive them to resolution.
  • Help define and improve the delivery playbook as we scale.
What you’ll bring to the team:
  • Proven project management experience delivering software or technology projects on time and on scope.
  • Command of modern tooling — project and collaboration platforms (Jira, Asana, Linear, Slack), version control (Git), and a comfort with AI‑assisted development workflows.
  • Exceptional communication — you can explain a technical trade‑off to a non‑technical client and a business constraint to an engineer, without either side feeling talked down to.
  • A bias for ownership — you chase clarity, close loops, and take responsibility for outcomes rather than tasks.
  • U.S. work authorization and the ability to work from our Jacksonville Beach, FL office on a hybrid schedule (2–3 days per week on‑site).
  • Hands‑on experience shipping AI, automation, or data‑platform products.
  • A background in software engineering before moving into delivery or product leadership.
  • Experience managing or mentoring distributed engineering teams.
  • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and CI/CD pipelines.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
  • Compensation is in line with or better than market rate, based on experience, with base salary plus commission.
  • Benefits include medical coverage — with aKillion paying 80% of the premium for individual coverage and 50% for family coverage — plus optional dental and vision plans.
