Job Summary
Industrial Power Solutions, a Sundt Company, is seeking an experienced Assistant Project Manager to support the successful execution of industrial electrical construction projects. Working alongside Project Managers and field leadership, this role assists with project planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, documentation, and overall project coordination to help ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and within budget.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated construction professional looking to advance their career while gaining hands-on experience managing complex industrial electrical projects across a variety of markets, including water/wastewater, manufacturing, industrial facilities, and infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist Project Managers with planning, coordinating, and executing industrial electrical construction projects.
• Review project drawings, specifications, contracts, and proposals to understand project scope and requirements.
• Support project scheduling, manpower planning, and resource coordination.
• Assist with project financial management, including budgets, purchasing, payroll, cost tracking, and forecasting.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and project reports.
• Coordinate material procurement and assist with equipment deliveries to support field operations.
• Communicate with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and field personnel to support successful project execution.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and assist in developing solutions to maintain project schedules.
• Support field teams by providing timely documentation, technical information, and project coordination.
• Promote company safety standards and assist in maintaining compliance with all project requirements.
Minimum Job Requirements
• Minimum 3 years of construction industry experience as a Project Coordinator, Assistant Project Manager, or related electrical trade experience.
• Knowledge of industrial electrical construction practices; water/wastewater experience is highly preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project documents.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Bluebeam.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
