CWP Energy is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the Power Flow team, a multidisciplinary group focused on transmission analysis, congestion modeling, and grid optimization.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in grid engineering initiatives, supporting transmission analysis, power flow modeling, and market-related grid strategies across North American electricity markets. You will also act as a technical mentor within the team, contributing to the development of internal expertise and best practices in a highly analytical and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities
  • Lead grid engineering activities related to transmission systems and power flow analysis across North American electricity markets.
  • Develop and maintain transmission and power flow models for congestion and grid analysis.
  • Analyze transmission constraints, grid behavior, and system reliability to support market strategies and decision-making.
  • Collaborate with traders, quantitative analysts, and researchers on transmission and market-related initiatives.
  • Interpret ISO/RTO market rules, operational constraints, and transmission planning data.
  • Contribute to the development of internal analytical tools, simulations, and engineering methodologies.
  • Act as a technical mentor and subject matter expert within the team.
  • Support strategic initiatives related to renewable integration, grid modernization, and transmission infrastructure.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in power systems, transmission engineering, grid operations, or energy markets.
  • Strong experience with transmission modeling, load flow analysis, congestion analysis, interconnection studies, and grid optimization.
  • Experience with linear programming and optimization techniques applied to transmission systems or energy markets.
  • Strong proficiency in PSS®E, as well as experience with power system simulation and transmission models.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL for modeling, automation, and data analysis.
  • Experience developing analytical models, simulation tools, or large-scale data-driven solutions.
  • Experience mentoring or leading technical teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

En tant que membre sénior de l’équipe, tu joueras un rôle clé dans les initiatives d’ingénierie de réseau, notamment en analyse de transport, modélisation des flux de puissance et stratégies liées aux marchés de l’énergie en Amérique du Nord. Tu agiras également comme mentor technique au sein de l’équipe, contribuant au développement de l’expertise interne et des meilleures pratiques dans un environnement hautement analytique et collaboratif.
Responsabilités principales
  • Diriger les activités d’ingénierie de réseau liées aux systèmes de transport et à l’analyse des flux de puissance sur les marchés de l’électricité nord-américains.
  • Développer et maintenir des modèles de transport et de flux de puissance pour l’analyse de congestion et du réseau.
  • Analyser les contraintes de transport, le comportement du réseau et la fiabilité des systèmes afin de soutenir les stratégies de marché et la prise de décision.
  • Collaborer avec les traders, analystes quantitatifs et chercheurs sur des initiatives liées aux marchés et au transport d’énergie.
  • Interpréter les règles des ISO/RTO, les contraintes opérationnelles et les données de planification du transport.
  • Contribuer au développement d’outils analytiques, de simulations et de méthodologies d’ingénierie internes.
  • Agir à titre de mentor technique et d’expert de référence au sein de l’équipe.
  • Participer à des initiatives stratégiques liées à l’intégration des énergies renouvelables, à la modernisation du réseau et aux infrastructures de transport.
Qualifications et expérience
  • Maîtrise ou doctorat en génie électrique, génie des réseaux électriques, physique, mathématiques ou dans une discipline quantitative connexe.
  • Minimum de 5 ans d’expérience pertinente en systèmes électriques, ingénierie du transport, opérations de réseau ou marchés de l’énergie.
  • Solide expérience en modélisation des réseaux de transport, analyse de flux de puissance, analyse de congestion, études d’interconnexion et optimisation du réseau.
  • Expérience avec la programmation linéaire et les techniques d’optimisation appliquées aux systèmes de transport ou aux marchés de l’énergie.
  • Excellente maîtrise de PSS®E ainsi qu’une expérience en simulation de réseaux électriques et modèles de transport.
  • Maîtrise de Python et SQL pour la modélisation, l’automatisation et l’analyse de données.
