Job description

The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with experience working in systems engineering and familiar with the development and certification of aircraft interiors and cabin systems.  The candidate should be capable of working as an integral team player who can write clear and unambiguous technical requirements and has a working knowledge of SAE ARP4754A and ARP4761.  Experience with aviation safety analysis and Part 23 or Part 27 aircraft or rotorcraft programs is preferred.  
 
The Systems Engineer will be a member of the Systems Integration Team which is responsible for product development processes, airplane and system requirements development, and systems integration.  This position focuses on the development of the A250 airplane cabin systems, which include environmental controls and both mechanical and electrical aspects of the interiors.  Systems engineers at BETA have cross-functional skills and abilities as they may support activities relating to systems engineering, systems integration, system safety, or system certification throughout the A250 program.  Flexibility in supporting team responsibilities as they arise is desired.
 
The candidate should be comfortable working with a team of certification engineers, DER's, systems engineers, and design engineers and be able to provide critical design feedback as it relates to safety and requirements verification. The candidate should expect to contribute as a team member to establish, manage and ensure compliance to the customer, regulatory, aircraft, and system-level requirements including demonstrating compliance through safety assessment.
 
How you will contribute to revolutionizing electric aviation:
  • Aircraft, Systems and Component requirements development and validation
  • ALM environment workflows and requirement management
  •  Collaboration with suppliers and Interiors and Environmental Controls team members to support system development milestones and integration
  • Participate in and provide support for supplier selection activities including providing technical content for requests for proposals and information
  • Assist in technical reviews during the development process with suppliers
 
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Accredited Engineering Degree in a relevant discipline
  • 5+ years experience working in aircraft or rotorcraft industry with a focus on systems development, design, safety assessment, and certification
  • Familiarity with FAA and EASA aviation regulations
  • Familiarity with System Engineering industry standards (SAE ARP4754A)
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision, self-directed
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
