Job Description

The Apprentice Bartender is responsible for supporting the restaurant bar team in delivering exceptional service consistent with Wynn Las Vegas' Forbes Five-Star standards and luxury hospitality culture. This entry-level bartending position serves as a developmental role, providing hands-on training in beverage preparation, responsible alcohol service, guest engagement, and bar operations.

The Apprentice Bartender assists Bartenders with beverage production, bar organization, inventory maintenance, and cleanliness while developing the knowledge and skills necessary to advance within the beverage department. This role requires a strong commitment to service excellence, attention to detail, teamwork, and continuous learning. Responsibilities are aligned with established Wynn Las Vegas apprentice bartender standards and beverage operations practices.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional guest service consistent with Wynn Las Vegas service standards.
  • Assist Bartenders with the preparation and presentation of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Learn and follow established beverage recipes, preparation methods, and service procedures.
  • Prepare garnishes, mixers, juices, syrups, and other bar ingredients as directed.
  • Stock and replenish liquor, beer, wine, glassware, ice, and bar supplies throughout service periods.
  • Maintain cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of all bar areas, equipment, and storage locations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Southern Nevada Health District regulations and company sanitation standards.
  • Assist with opening, operating, and closing bar procedures.
  • Communicate guest preferences, requests, and service needs to Bartenders and management.
  • Accurately transport beverages from the service bar to dining room team members when required.
  • Support inventory control efforts by monitoring stock levels and notifying management of shortages.
  • Develop knowledge of spirits, wine, beer, cocktails, and Wynn beverage offerings.
  • Participate actively in departmental training programs and ongoing beverage education.
  • Maintain professional appearance and grooming standards in accordance with Wynn Las Vegas policies.
  • Support special events, private dining functions, and promotional activities as assigned.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced luxury dining environment.
Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English with guests and team members.
  • Ability to follow instructions and maintain established standards.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain all licenses, permits, and work cards required by Wynn Las Vegas and local regulatory agencies.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in hospitality, food and beverage, restaurant operations, or guest service.
  • Basic knowledge of spirits, beer, wine, and cocktails.
  • Previous experience as a barback, food runner, server assistant, or beverage attendant.
