Job description

Civil Litigation Defense Attorney

Career Consulting Partners is partnered with one of the Southwest's premier civil litigation defense firms. We are looking for a Mid-to-Senior Civil Litigation Attorney ready to take ownership of complex files and step directly into trial reps. If you are a 4–10-year associate tired of standing in the shadows of senior partners and want true autonomy, high-level client contact, and a clear path to partnership, this is your next career step.

Depending on your background and preference, you will manage complex litigation across key practice areas such as Public Entity & Municipal Defense, Employment Litigation, General & Professional Liability, Medical Malpractice & Elder Care, and/or Appellate & Business Litigation.

Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage a robust caseload from intake through trial or resolution.

  • Conduct and defend depositions of experts, key witnesses, corporate representatives, and plaintiffs.

  • Draft and argue dispositive motions (MSJs, demurrers) and substantive pre-trial motions.

  • Serve as first- or second-chair in trials, arbitrations, and administrative hearings.

  • Direct client management, including risk evaluation and strategy development with institutional clients and insurers.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

  • 4–10 years of substantive civil litigation experience (defense background preferred).

  • Active License in good standing with the Nevada State Bar.

  • Proven track record taking/defending expert depositions and handling court appearances independently.

  • Strong legal analysis, legal writing, and oral advocacy skills.

  • Demonstrated interest or background in civil litigation, insurance defense, or public entity work.

  • Self-motivated team player who thrives in a collaborative, trial-focused environment.

Compensation & Benefits
  • Compensation range: $180,000 - $225,000

  • Plus billable hour bonuses, referral bonuses, and year-end discretionary bonuses.

  • 401(k) matching, HSA, cell reimbursement, state bar dues, CLE allowance, and full health/dental/vision coverage.

  • True hybrid flexibility (1–2 days in office or fully remote options depending on location/experience).

  • Clear, structured metrics to move from senior associate to partner.

Location:
  • Las Vegas, Nevada

  • True hybrid flexibility (1–2 days in office or fully remote options depending on location/experience).
