Job description

PDW Performance Driven Workforce is now hiring Full-Time Entry-Level Prototype Mechanics for an Automotive Tier 1 Supplier. Entry-Level Prototype Mechanics will be modifying cars and trucks in a prototype environment, performing a wide range of diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance. This Full-Time Entry-Level Prototype Mechanics position offers an AM Day shift plus Overtime when needed and is based out of Livonia, MI. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Entry-Level Prototype Mechanics position below are strongly encouraged to apply. Day shift and Overtime are available.
Shift Schedule:
  • AM Day shift: 6:45 am to 3:30 pm (Monday - Friday + OT as needed)
Responsibilities:
  • Maintain vehicle functional condition by working off repair orders or leader instructions and conducting inspections
  • Repair mechanical and electrical system malfunctions and replace parts and components
  • Read, interpret, and follow service procedures
  • Maintain vehicle records by entering notes, service, and repair orders
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventative maintenance, calling for repairs
  • Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1-year automotive technician / mechanic experience or equivalent military experience
  • Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment
  • Must have own tools with rolling toolbox
  • Must have well rounded technician / mechanical experience and knowledge
  • Must have good organizational skills
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Must possess the skills to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures
  • Must be an automotive technician / mechanic with a high level of urgency, motivation, and enthusiasm to learn
  • Must have reliable attendance and the willingness to work overtime/weekends
Preferred Skills:
  • Ford experience
  • State/ASE certifications
  • Prototype build technician / mechanic experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness and availability to work the afternoon shift
