Position Summary

The Mechanical Designer applies engineering and design principles to support the development, documentation, and continuous improvement of motors and generators. This role focuses on creating and maintaining bills of materials, drawings, and specifications while partnering closely with engineering, manufacturing, and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality products efficiently and cost-effectively.

This position is well-suited for entry-level designers with a 2-year degree as well as experienced professionals with a 4-year degree looking to grow within a manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, revise, and maintain engineering documentation including bills of materials, routers, submittals, detailed drawings, revisions, and installation instructions
  • Support manufacturing by resolving issues related to drawings, materials, and manufacturing methods
  • Collaborate with design engineering, marketing, manufacturing, and purchasing teams to support quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction
  • Follow and help maintain standard processes, procedures, and engineering documentation practices
  • Participate in special projects and cross-functional initiatives as needed
  • Adapt to changing priorities, schedules, and deadlines in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Communicate technical ideas clearly and logically, both verbally and in writing
  • Analyze information methodically to support effective problem-solving and decision-making
  • Evaluate multiple solutions and work through obstacles efficiently
