Roth SocialHouse in Turlock, CA is looking to hire a part-time Hostess / Host to greet guests as they enter our restaurant and then show them to their table or the waiting area. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A HOSTESS / HOST

In this hospitality position, you warmly greet our guests over the phone or when they arrive at our restaurant. You welcome everybody with a smile as soon as they walk in, communicate wait times clearly, and escort them to their table as soon as it is ready, handing out menus and answering any questions they have. When complaints or concerns arise, you address them with patience and empathy, bringing them to the attention of management when necessary. Your customer service skills shine as you help each person in our restaurant.


At the beginning of your shift, you count the money in the cash drawers to ensure the amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. Using the point-of-sale (POS) system, you accurately ring up customer orders. With attention to detail, you calculate total payments received during a time period and reconcile this with total sales. You are not only the first person customers see when they arrive, you are also the last person they see as they leave. With your friendly demeanor, you bid our leaving guests a happy farewell and insist they come to visit us again! You feel good about using your skills to keep our customers happy!


QUALIFICATIONS FOR A HOSTESS / HOST

  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.

Restaurant experience is a plus. Can you follow directions quickly and accurately? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Are you friendly and able to establish a good rapport with people easily?
