Role Overview

Tier 1 Field Technicians are entry-level installers responsible for supporting AV installation projects through hands-on labor, basic technical tasks, and adherence to company processes. This role focuses on learning industry fundamentals, jobsite best practices, and core AV concepts while working under direct supervision.


Core Responsibilities

  • Assist with installation of audio, video, networking, security, and low-voltage systems
  • Pull, label, terminate, and test low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, coax, speaker wire)
  • Mount TVs and equipment with supervision
  • Maintain clean and organized job sites and work vehicles
  • Track time, materials, and daily work activity in company systems
  • Complete basic job documentation, photos, and daily reports
  • Follow safety standards, building codes, and company procedures
  • Support troubleshooting under direction of senior technicians

Qualifications & Skills

  • Strong reliability, punctuality, and willingness to learn
  • Basic understanding of AV components (TVs, receivers, routers, speakers)
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical work (ladders, crawlspaces, attics)
  • Basic hand and power tool competency or ability to learn quickly
