Job Description
Job Title: Assembler II
Location: Rochester, NY
Duration: 6+ months
Pay Rate: $20.00 to $22.00/hr.
Shift: 7: 30am -4: 00pm, Mon-Fri
Essential responsibilities:
  • Prepare the workspace by gathering all necessary parts and materials to initiate or complete the customer order. This includes having all tools and the correct version of the test software available, and ready for use.
  • Perform manual assembly of narrow-band radio products according to the customer work order and work instructions (WPIs).
  • Assemble radios with careful attention to detail, utilizing strong hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle small parts, wires, and intricate components.
  • Review and adhere to the Bill of Materials (BOM) and engineering drawings, to ensure accuracy.
  • Communicate regularly with supervisors and engineers on the status of jobs, materials, configuration issues, etc.
  • Utilize SAP (ERP) system for job-related and operational transactions.
  • Carry out barcode scanning tasks with an understanding of barcode principles.
  • Connect entry-level products to test fixtures, operate and test software, troubleshoot, and identify test failures.
  • Provide support for Manufacturing cells, as needed.
  • Respect and professionalism with all co-workers, staff, management, and customers.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Additional duties may be assigned by supervisor, as needed.

Desired characteristics:
  • Prior electronics manufacturing experience
  • Prior experience with hand tools and small power tools
  • Awareness to stop work;whether due to failing progress or potential quality or safety concerns.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through email and instant messaging.
  • General PC skills -including Microsoft Office, Outlook, Teams, Excel & Word.
  • Ability to navigate network and specific software programs.

Required qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical environment & work environment:
  • Must be able to visually observe details at close range.
  • May require lifting or moving objects up to [insert weight, e.G., 35 lbs.].
  • May include working with or near chemicals, solder, or other manufacturing materials.
  • May involve exposure to soldering smoke and fumes;appropriate ventilation and personal protective equipment (PPE) are provided to minimize exposure risks.
  • This position requires the ability to use repetitive motion, with a high-level of dexterity.
  • Must be able to operate hand tools and computers.
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the work shift.
  • Must be able to move about inside the manufacturing area to access equipment, files, etc.
  • Will be required to wear protective gear, such as safety glasses, safety shoes and ESD smock.
  • This role involves working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat and machinery.
  • Will be working under deadlines or in a production-paced environment.
