Job description

We are looking for an experienced Precision Sheet Metal Fabricator / Programmer to join our manufacturing team. This position is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC sheet metal equipment while producing high-quality precision parts to print.

The ideal candidate has strong hands-on fabrication experience, understands CNC programming, can read engineering drawings, and takes pride in producing accurate, quality work.

Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate CNC sheet metal equipment.
  • Program and operate CNC punch presses, press brakes, and other fabrication equipment.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and job specifications.
  • Select appropriate tooling and determine bend sequences, setups, and forming methods.
  • Set up machines and verify first-piece dimensions.
  • Inspect parts using calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other inspection equipment.
  • Troubleshoot programming, tooling, and machine issues.
  • Make program and setup adjustments to maintain part quality.
  • Work with engineering and manufacturing to improve processes and reduce setup and production time.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow established quality procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Help develop efficient processes for both prototype and production work.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in precision sheet metal fabrication.
  • CNC programming and machine setup experience.
  • Strong ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
  • Experience with press brakes and CNC punching equipment.
  • Knowledge of sheet metal materials, tooling, bend allowances, and forming processes.
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to producing quality parts.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience programming Amada CNC punch presses and/or press brakes.
  • Experience with Amada software or similar CAD/CAM programming systems.
  • Experience working with stainless steel, aluminum, mild steel, and other sheet metal materials.
  • Experience with tight-tolerance aerospace, medical, defense, or industrial components.
  • Familiarity with CAD/CAM software.
  • Ability to assist with quoting and determining manufacturing processes is a plus.
