Job Title: Restoration Superintendent - Entry Level (Reconstruction & Mitigation Support)
Reports to: Reconstruction Manager & Mitigation Manager
Job Summary
The Restoration Superintendent - Entry Level supports field operations across both the Reconstruction and Mitigation departments. This position is responsible for on-site oversight, documentation, safety enforcement, job-site coordination, and technician/subcontractor support.
The Superintendent will also be trained in estimating, budgeting, supplements, and contract execution, and will assist Project Managers with overflow responsibilities during periods of high workload. This role is designed as an entry point into the restoration and reconstruction industry, with a clear growth path toward Project Management.
This is a hands-on, field-based position ideal for individuals wanting to develop a long-term career in restoration, reconstruction, and mitigation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Reconstruction Field Support
    • Coordinate subcontractor arrivals and confirm understanding of assigned scopes.
    • Perform basic roof, exterior, and interior inspections under PM instruction.
    • Document daily progress through detailed logs, photos, and notes.
    • Assist with job readiness checks and material verification.
    • Complete punch-list support tasks to ensure high-quality delivery.
    • Monitor safety, workmanship, and site cleanliness.
    • Report delays, hazards, scope concerns, or issues to the PM immediately.
  • Overflow Project Manager Support (As Needed)
    • The Superintendent will receive structured training in:
      • Basic estimating and measurement standards
      • Budgeting and cost-awareness
      • Supplements and required documentation
      • Contract execution review processes
      • Scope validation
    • After training, responsibilities may include:
      • Gathering measurements and site info needed for estimates
      • Collecting photos and written documentation for supplements
      • Drafting simple supplements under PM supervision
      • Organizing documents and updates in DASH
      • Supporting material selections, ordering, and homeowner communication (as directed)
      • Preparing job readiness and closeout packets
      • Assisting with scheduling and site coordination
  • Mitigation Supervision (As Needed)
    • Provide on-site oversight for Technicians during water, fire, smoke, or mold projects.
    • Confirm proper containment, PPE, and safety protocols.
    • Ensure equipment is set properly (air scrubbers, dehumidifiers, negative air).
    • Maintain situational awareness and correct unsafe conditions.
    • Assist technicians to ensure steady workflow and task clarity.
    • Mitigation support may include emergencies, nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Mitigation Documentation Procurement
    • Capture full, chronological photo documentation from arrival to completion.
    • Record accurate moisture readings, environmental readings, and moisture maps.
    • Document containment, drying equipment, and remediation procedures.
    • Maintain equipment logs, job notes, and insurance-required details.
    • Submit all documentation promptly for PM review.
  • Job Site Safety & Compliance
    • Enforce basic safety standards and company protocols.
    • Identify hazards such as structural issues, electrical risks, mold, or trip/fall hazards.
    • Notify the Reconstruction or Mitigation Manager immediately of any safety issues.
    • Ensure job sites remain secure, clean, and compliant.
  • Client & Stakeholder Interaction
    • Serve as a respectful, professional on-site representative of Terminus.
    • Communicate clearly and calmly with homeowners, tenants, adjusters, and vendors.
    • Explain documentation and observations without discussing pricing, scope changes, or promises.
    • Provide reassurance during high-stress events such as water or fire damage.
  • Communication & Coordination
    • Relay real-time updates and field conditions to Project Managers.
    • Assist with scheduling subcontractors, inspections, and material deliveries.
    • Maintain accurate records across platforms (DASH, CompanyCam, etc.).
    • Support both Mitigation and Reconstruction teams to ensure smooth project flow.

Qualifications
  • Required
    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Valid driver's license with clean MVR.
    • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
    • Availability for flexible/as-needed mitigation hours.
  • Preferred (Training Provided)
    • Experience in construction, mitigation, roofing, or restoration.
    • Familiarity with moisture meters, hygrometers, or roof inspections.
    • Comfort working in attics, crawlspaces, confined spaces, and on roofs.
  • Skills
    • Strong documentation accuracy and attention to detail.
    • Clear verbal and written communication.
    • Organized, reliable, and able to follow detailed instructions.
    • Calm and professional during emergency situations.
    • Basic problem-solving and willingness to escalate when necessary.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in wet, smoky, mold-affected, or damaged environments.
  • Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, attics, crawlspaces, and confined spaces.
  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, and perform physical work for extended periods.

Compensation & Schedule
  • Eligible for overtime pay when exceeding 40 hours per week.
  • Full-time schedule, with additional mitigation support hours available as needed.
  • Mitigation hours may range from 0-24 hours per month, depending on work volume.
  • Clear advancement path into Write/Run Project Manager, or Mitigation Lead roles.
