Job description

WHO IS G-3 CHICKADEE

Formerly part of Goodyear Chemical, G-3 Chickadee is now an independent, private equity-backed specialty materials company in the early stages of building its own operational identity. We're modernizing our infrastructure—SAP, MES, cybersecurity—and investing heavily in new product development.Local candidates preferred due to proximity to the worksite and interview/ onboarding logistics. Relocation is not available.

THE ROLE

In this role, you'll work alongside scientists and engineers in our pilot plant, helping turn laboratory ideas into real-world solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Operate small-scale polymer production equipment

  • Test materials and analyze results

  • Prepare samples for customer and internal evaluations

  • Track process data and document findings

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and clean process equipment and support improvements

  • Work closely with R&D teams on new products

  • Maintain a strong safety-first mindset

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

REQUIRED

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Mechanical, technical and/or chemical aptitude; interest in figuring out how equipment works
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team-first attitude
  • Willingness to work off-shift two weeks per month and two weeks

per month on a rotating shift schedule (Monday of the first week through Friday of the second week; 12 consecutive workdays)

  • Two weeks per month on 1st shift (Monday-Friday)

    • 6:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.
  • Two weeks per month on a rotating shift schedule (Monday of the first week through Friday of the second week; 12 consecutive workdays)- 1st Shift: 6:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.

    • 2nd Shift*: 2:30 p.m. - 10:30 p.m.
    • 3rd Shift*: 10:30 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
    • Employees rotate among 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts, spending approximately four months per year on each shift.

* Employees will receive a shift differential of $1.50 per hour for all hours worked on 2nd and 3rd shifts.

PREFERRED

  • Associate degree in a technical or scientific field
  • Experience in manufacturing, pilot plants, or labs
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Chemical aptitude
