Duties
Help

• You will review, approve and direct work operations in the execution of a project within an assigned zone of work.
• You will plan overall work assignments by determining total resource requirements and allocation based on schedules and work sequences.
• You will monitor, analyze and take necessary actions to achieve cost, quality, and schedule commitments.
• You will initiate or attend meetings concerning work status and provide updates as required to maintain an accurate project schedule.
• You will maintain liaison with key management personnel in all shipyard departments, offices, and divisions.
• You will keep abreast of trade, technical, and administrative developments related to ship repair, ensuring only authorized work is undertaken, and safe work practices are followed.

• This position is covered under Public Law 114-264, the Program Management Improvement Accountability Act (PMIAA).
• You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
• Work is performed in areas where potentially harmful physical and chemical agents are present (e.g. fumes, dust, heat, ionizing and non-ionizing radiation and chemicals). You will be required to participate in medical surveillance programs.
• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
• This position requires rotating shift work.

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:

• Experience applying a comprehensive range of principles, concepts, and practices concerning shipyard work operations, control system requirements, and trade and shop practices.
• Experience utilizing knowledge of production trade and technical methods, procedures, materials, and processes associated with the repair and overhaul of complex Naval vessels.
• Experience applying project management, quality control, cost control, schedule control, and workflow techniques.
• Experience conducting a variety of meetings or critiques to review key reports and schedules and identifying major problems which may arise requiring worksite coordination with others.
• Experience investigating and analyzing practices and problems to initiate effective improvements and solutions.
• Experience analyzing, evaluating, and adjusting project resources, work operation equipment, and facilities against current and future scheduled work requirements.
