Job description

Description

We are hiring a BMS Monitoring Technician to remotely monitor and support multiple building automation systems. This is not an IT helpdesk role and not a field technician position. This role requires HVAC understanding, strong judgment, and the ability to identify real system issues before they become failures. ย Basic level training will be provided.ย 


Key Responsibilities:

  • Utilize basic computer skills to monitor HVAC controls, analyze data, and generate reportsย 
  • Work with multiple BMS/BAS platforms (Niagara, Honeywell, Trane, Siemens, JCI, etc.)ย 
  • Securely connect to and navigate remote customer sitesย 
  • Assist field technicians with remote troubleshooting of HVAC and controls componentsย 
  • Assist customers with BMS adjustments remotely (setpoints, schedules, overrides)ย 
  • Monitor alarms and trends for HVAC equipment: AHUs, RTUs, Boilers, chillers, VAVs, pumps, and associated systemsย 
  • Acknowledge, prioritize, and triage alarmsย 
  • Distinguish nuisance alarms from true faultsย 
  • Identify cause vs symptomย 
  • Identify faulty components or faulty equipmentย 
  • Escalate issues with clear, actionable documentationย 
  • Participate in a scheduled on-call rotationย 
  • Perform approved BAS maintenance tasks remotely (point checks, schedule reviews, alarm maintenance, backups where applicable).ย 
  • Collaborate with team members to implement system upgrades and improvementsย 
  • Collaborate with team members to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectivelyย 
  • Maintain accurate records of service calls, repairs, and system maintenance activitiesย

A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $28.85/hr. to $33.65/hr. This compensation range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skills sets, experience and training, licensures and certifications, education, and other business and organizational needs. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.ย
