Position Overview:
The Field Operator for Chem32 in Orange, TX supports safe, reliable plant operations by carrying out production, material handling, and equipment support activities in accordance with established procedures and safety standards. This role is well-suited for candidates with prior industrial or manufacturing experience, while also remaining accessible to motivated entry-level individuals seeking to build a long-term career in operations. Strong reliability, proven work history, and a safety-focused mindset are critical for success in this position.
What you will be doing:
  • Operate and monitor plant equipment to support production schedules and quality requirements
  • Perform material handling tasks including sampling, labeling, preparing, and moving products
  • Load and unload reactor towers and support unit operations during planned activities
  • Complete shift documentation, bin logs, work order requests, and equipment labeling
  • Perform routine housekeeping and operate support equipment such as drum crushers
  • Assist maintenance activities, including shutdown support and lockout/tagout as trained
  • Identify, report, and assist in troubleshooting operational or equipment issues
  • Follow standard operating procedures, job instructions, and shift assignments
  • Communicate effectively during shift changes to ensure continuity of operations
  • Support warehouse and material handling activities as needed
  • Cross-train to expand operational knowledge and progression toward Level 2 Operator responsibilities
Required Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience in chemical, manufacturing, refinery, or industrial operations is preferred; entry-level candidates with strong mechanical aptitude and work ethic will be considered
  • Safety-first minded
  • Proven tenure with previous employers, demonstrating reliability, consistent attendance, and accountability
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Working knowledge of industrial processes (pressure, temperature, flow, materials handling) or the ability to learn these concepts quickly
  • Willingness and ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Ability to work independently while adhering strictly to procedures and safety requirements
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a production environment
  • Basic computer proficiency (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint)
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow standard operating procedures and job instructions
  • Ability and willingness to wear respiratory protection and other required PPE
  • Ability to work outdoors in varied weather conditions
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
  • Forklift Certified is a plus
  • TWIC Card is a plus
  • Process Technology degree is a plus
