SUMMARY OF POSITION
Kinsley is looking for hard-working, entry-level, and motivated candidates who have an interest in carpentry and concrete construction to join our growing team in Hagerstown, MD. As a Laborer, you will be introduced to multiple skilled carpentry and concrete construction positions and learn how to construct various building components through hands-on learning. Majority of the projects will be based in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia area.
Please note that this position is considered safety sensitive in accordance with Kinsley Construction policies and procedures.
TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Measure, cut or shape wood, plastic and other material.
  • Use various hand and power tools such as circular saws, nail guns, sanders, tape measures, squares, levels, brooms etc.
  • Fasten materials together with nails, screws, staples, and adhesives.
  • Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and door frames.
  • Follow blueprints and building plans.
  • Install windows, doors, cabinets and other various fixtures.
  • Clean and prepare construction sites by removing debris and possible hazards.
  • Load or unload building materials to be used in construction.
  • Build or take apart bracing, scaffolding and temporary structures.
  • Help craft workers with their duties by carrying tools and materials or help set up equipment.
  • Opportunity to learn how to operate excavation and grading equipment.
  • Assist with placing and tying rebar, as well as placing and finishing concrete.
  • Ensure adherence to safe work practices and procedures.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as required.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Previous experience/exposure in carpentry or concrete is preferred.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass DOT pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening.
  • Must be capable of receiving and following instructions.
  • Ability to communicate and build professional relationships with co-workers and upper management.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Punctuality and dependability are required.
