Tetra Tech, Inc. is currently seeking an Entry Level Project Financial Analyst in our Helena, MT. Will also consider CA or CO locations. This entry level position is for a full cycle project accountant, including but not limited to project setup, month review of project financial performance, invoicing, and collections.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Support project financial management activities throughout the full project lifecycle from project setup through closeout.
  • Maintain and analyze project budgets, costs, revenue and profitability to support financial decision making.
  • Monitor project financial performance and identify variances between actual and budgeted results.
  • Collaborate closely with project managers to review project status and financial risks.
  • Partner with finance team to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with company policies and timely month end activities.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel proficiently including formulas and pivot tables to analyze project financial data.
  • Maintain accurate project records and documentation.
  • Support monthly billing and collections for assigned portfolio.
  • Demonstrate strong organizational skills in order to prioritize multiple assignments and successfully manage competing deadlines.

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate degree or relevant course work towards a bachelor's degree in business management, accounting, or similar program from an accredited college or university.
  • 0 - 3 years of project administration experience is preferred.
  • Ability to perform multiple tasks under supervision, and independently. Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Ability to speak effectively with other employees and clients.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as financial statements, invoices, and payment records.
  • Ability to search for pertinent facts and data, analyze and evaluate information, and form accurate conclusions.
  • Ability to express conclusions and results in clear written and oral reports.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • A pre-employment drug screening in compliance with state regulations is required.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Familiarization with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as Oracle is preferred.

Physical Requirements:
  • Office work will include extended periods sitting or standing at a desk and using a computer and other office equipment.

Work Environment / Environmental Factors:
  • Based out of Helena, MT office (will also consider CA or CO locations) with the potential of a hybrid work arrangement, but the candidate must reside within 30 miles of a local office. This arrangement is subject to review and may change at the company's discretion.

Additional Information:
  • Full-time, Monday through Friday work scheduled (40 hours). Occasionally extended hours may be required based on project and/or client needs.
  • Work will be primarily performed in an office setting.

Target salary range: California state staff will be hired under an hourly range of $24.04 to $28.85 per hour. Montana state staff hiring range $50,000 - $60,000 annually. Colorado state staff hiring range $57,784 to $60,000 annually. Please note that Tetra Tech considers various factors in determining pay, including but not limited to: education, relevant and demonstrated work experience in the role, skills, geographic location, qualifications, certifications, and other competencies relevant to the needs of the business.
