Fire Sprinkler and Fire Extinguisher Inspector (Entry-Level)
This is an entry-level position with on-the-job training. Once the training period is completed and licensing has been achieved, this inspector is responsible for performing testing and inspection of fire sprinkler and related systems with knowledge of multiple manufacturers' products. Required certifications achieved during training period: backflow prevention assembly tester, NICET I NFPA 25, NICET II NFPA 25, Montana state license for fire extinguishing systems.
We have a need for a self-motivated, customer service-oriented Inspector with strong written and verbal communication skills. The Inspector will provide accurate and detailed inspection reports with all proper documentation of improvements and complications.
Once fully licensed and trained this individual will have their own work truck and a scheduled list of inspections to complete daily. This position covers the entire state of Montana - travel is required.
Starting wage is dependent on location and experience. Starting wage is typically between $52,000-$58,000 annually, with increases with each level of certification achieved. Upon being fully licensed the inspector can anticipate being within the $69,000-$77,000 salary range. The expectation is that the individual goes from entry-level to fully licensed within one year.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL COMPLETE TRAINING BASED OUT OF MISSOULA WITH THE ABILITY TO MOVE TO BOZEMAN ONCE FULLY LICENSED.
Job Responsibilities
  • Responsible for operating with minimal supervision while performing fire protection inspections
  • Perform routine inspections, testing and services of life safety product lines
  • Daily communications with Project Manager and/or Schedule Coordinator on inspection or project delays, requirements and general status of job
  • Document time worked as well as all paperwork relating to assigned tasks in a timely manner
  • Work with Project Manager, Schedule Coordinator and Office Administrative Staff to ensure complete closeout and turnover of jobs to the client (Confirm that work is completed so it can be billed in full)

Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Possess a valid driver's license; in accordance with Company policy
  • Willing to pass a post-offer drug test and background check
  • Experience in the fire protection industry is a plus but not required
  • An understanding of NFPA and building and fire codes is a plus but not required

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Regular bending, reaching, climbing, walking and driving
