Job description

Lynntech is seeking a Project Management Specialist to strengthen our team.
The Project Management Office's (PMO) charter is to "Increase project capture & execution through implementation of project management principles". If you are agile, adaptable, energetic, and focused, Lynntech would like to talk with you about becoming a member of this team. As part of this team you will have the opportunity to assist in the management and oversight of proposals, cost, schedule, risks, resources, and scope on a wide variety of projects at Lynntech. Lynntech projects & programs are structured in multi-disciplined teams. As a member of Lynntech's PMO you will have multiple opportunities to assist and/or participate with these dynamic teams.
This position will have two functions: 1) support the PMO proposal effort including working with proposal writers on proposal requirements, reviewing proposals prior to submittal, and submittal of proposals, and 2) support tracking of cost, schedule and deliverables on projects within Lynntech. This is an entry level Project Specialist position and is not a Project/Program Manager position. This position does allow for growth and advancement in the Project Specialist career path and opportunities to advance into Project Management. A person with accounting experience and wanting to broaden their skillset and/or opportunities, or a person with prior proposal submission experience would be beneficial. As a Project Management Specialist you will have the opportunity to be involved in the following functions as part of this job:
Proposal Relate Activities
  • Will support, and at times lead, the gathering and submittals of all documents and information needed for the many government agency proposals submitted throughout each year
  • Read government solicitations and develop templates and guidelines for the proposal writers to use
  • Will work with technical writers to answer questions, gather necessary information, and performing a cursory review
  • Submit all necessary proposal documents to the particular government agency per their defined submittal process

Project Cost Tracking and Oversight Activities
  • Generate project cost reports and conduct analysis of problems and trends
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and assist in implementing mitigation strategies to schedule issues
  • Assist in tracking and submitting contract deliverables to customers on projects per contract requirements
  • Assist in tracking project resources and assist in resource conflict resolution
  • Assist Project Managers and Project Leaders in identifying and managing project risks
  • Work with Project & Program Managers to assist them on the management and oversight of larger projects and programs
  • Participate in developing and adapting new and existing project management processes

  • Accounting experience with interest in expanding beyond accounting is a plus
  • Ability to multitask well while working to multiple deadlines
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and under tight deadlines

  • Detail oriented is a must as quality and accuracy is critical to this position
  • Always maintains a positive "we can do it" attitude
  • Ability to work well on multi-disciplined teams
  • Able to concisely communicate your points to Project Leaders, Project Managers, and proposal writers
  • Ability to interact and communicate with all levels of an organization
  • Ability to establish and track budgets and forecasts
  • Able to interpret cost data for trends and issues, along with data entry
  • Ability to establish and track a project schedule
  • Experience with MS Office software including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to create, maintain, and comprehend MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Comprehend MS Excel formulas and use the spreadsheet as a trend analysis / tool to understand what the data within the spreadsheet is telling you
  • Past experience in government proposal submittals is a plus
  • MS Project experience a plus
  • Knowledge of earned value management principles a plus
  • Good communication and writing skills of the English language
  • US Citizenship required due to contract requirements

The applicant is anticipated to have the following qualifications.
  • Bachelor Degree, or Associate Degree with 1 year experience/exposure to Accounting and/or Project Management principles, HS diploma/GED with 2 years experience /exposure to Accounting and/or Project Management principles
  • PMP or CAPM certification a plus
  • Working knowledge / understanding of PMI's PMBOK principles a plus
