POSITION: Entry level Project Manager / Environmental Technician – Industrial Hygiene


POSITION SUMMARY


AEI Consultants is currently seeking an energetic and professional Project Manager/Environmental Technician to join our expanding Industrial Hygiene team. The Project Manager/Environmental Technician performs field investigations or testing services as assigned, including Asbestos, Mold, Lead-based paint, and indoor air quality testing.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performs various environmental consulting projects including ACM, LBP, mold sampling techniques, and indoor air quality testing
  • Maintains, operates, and calibrates a variety of sampling and monitoring equipment
  • Prepares accurate and complete technical reports of survey findings
  • Acquires and maintains environmental certifications and training to maintain compliance as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Approximately 0-3 years of experience and knowledge in the performance of various environmental consulting projects including ACM/LBP/mold sampling techniques
  • Ability to take direction and perform duties and tasks assigned by Project Managers or other senior level staff
  • Demonstrate excellent technical writing skills
  • Superior time management, communication, and organizational skills
  • Able to manage multiple projects at once under strict deadlines with guidance from senior staff
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and frequently with senior management and sales team
  • Able to handle technical questions and guide clients through difficult projects
  • Able to review technical reports from other in-house and subcontracted professionals
  • Willingness to travel
  • Must be a self-starter and resourceful

EDUCATION

  • BS/MS Degree or degree candidate in environmental, civil, environmental science, geology, hydrogeology, industrial hygiene safety or environmental science

LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

  • Asbestos inspector, Mold Assessor Training/Licensure, OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER preferred
  • Asbestos, Lead-Based Paint, Mold licensure preferred

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • The work environment may be both indoors and outdoors. Indoor work can take place in any number of settings including offices, retail spaces, commercial sites, and multi-family housing. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor work requires the ability to effectively perform work in all types of weather conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, type, handle office and/or field equipment, speak and hear. The employee may occasionally be required to stand, walk, balance, kneel or crouch. The employee may be required to travel independently and lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to focus.
